Marisa R. Brunetti joined Robinson & McElwee in 2019 as an Associate and her practice focuses on general civil litigation, including asbestos exposure, products liability, breach of contract, antitrust, and complex class action claims. Recently, she has been substantially involved in defending major pharmaceutical companies in the national and state opioid litigation. Additionally, Mrs. Brunetti maintains a regional practice defending claims arising out of consumer defaults and foreclosures.
Mrs. Brunetti spent over two years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office where she handled felony preliminary hearings, misdemeanor bench trials, pretrial hearings and revocation hearings. During her time in the Prosecutor’s Office, she gained trial experience and has also drafted and filed numerous motions, briefs and responses to magistrate court and circuit court. While in law school, Mrs. Brunetti worked in the Genesee Prosecutor’s Office in Flint, Michigan and served as a Law Intern for Kelly Services in Troy, Michigan. In 2013, Mrs. Brunetti was the Law Intern for the Honorable Mark S. Switalski in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court Macomb County, in Mount Clemens, Michigan.
While at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mrs. Brunetti was the Preemption and Screening Editor for the Western Michigan University Cooley Law Review, and she received numerous accolades, including the President’s Achievement Award, and she graduated magna cum laude.
Mrs. Brunetti graduated magna cum laude from the University of Charleston and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. She was a Division II WVIAC Women’s Volleyball player and an Involvement Scholar at the University.
Mrs. Brunetti grew up in Rochester, Michigan and now lives in Charleston with her husband, Anthony. She enjoys watching sports and spending time with her family and her dog, Griffy.
