Robinson & McElwee Associate Newest Member of Clarksburg City Council

Clarksburg, WV – Robinson & McElwee associate Ryan Kennedy was elected the newest member of the Clarksburg City Council on January 28th.  Mr. Kennedy was elected by the six sitting members of the City Council, and the vote ended 5-1, in favor of Mr. Kennedy.

On Wednesday, the Exponent Telegram quoted Clarksburg Mayor Cathy Goings: “’I’m very pleased with the direction this went in today,” Goings said. “We have several major projects, and we don’t want to lose the momentum. We just want to keep going, and I think Ryan will fit right in.’”

Mr. Kennedy’s law practice encompasses general civil and criminal litigation in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels.  Mr. Kennedy also has experience with general corporate compliance, real estate transactions and non-profit and gaming law.  Mr. Kennedy received both his Bachelors and Juris Doctorate degrees from West Virginia University.  In his spare time, Mr. Kennedy serves as President of the Rotary Club of Clarksburg.  Mr. Kennedy is also an FBI Citizens’ Academy Graduate and Former Post Adjutant for the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
