Robinson & McElwee is expanding its presence in The Mountain State with the opening of its Wheeling office, marking its third office in the state.

The new office, which will be managed by West Virginia and Ohio licensed attorney, Lisa M. Schmitt, will support clients working in exploration of the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in West Virginia and Ohio, with particular focus on mineral title certification.

“Building on three decades of experience in the energy and natural resources industry sectors, we are excited to expand our service to clients in this rapidly-changing environment,” said Managing Member Kent George. “This expansion reflects our dedication to our clients in the oil and gas industry.”

In addition to mineral title certification work, Ms. Schmitt will also be continuing her established practice in the areas of real estate and complex commercial and corporate transactions, as well as serving as title agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company in both West Virginia and Ohio.

Robinson & McElwee’s practice is multifaceted and includes natural resources law, including oil and gas title matters; corporate law; commercial real estate development; environmental law; state and local taxation; labor and employment law; utility law; litigation; bankruptcy; estate planning and administration; commercial transactions; and government relations.
