Welcome to www.wvemployeradvocate.com, a new website for West Virginia employers. It is our hope that this site, which is part of our Employer Advocate program, will stimulate discussion that employers will find helpful.
The goal of our Employer Advocate program is to provide a forum for the sharing of information and the exchange of ideas. We hope to do this by advancing the Employer Advocate Program initially in a two step process. The first step in the advancement of our program was accomplished on September 12, 2007, when we conducted the Employer Advocate seminar in Charleston. More than 50 people representing nearly 40 West Virginia employers joined us for this successful and productive half-day of panel discussions. Ideas were shared on timely issues regarding workers compensation, employment practices liability, and electronic discovery. In this regard, I very much thank those who attended our seminar and the featured panelists who shared their expertise. I invite you to visit our seminar page for downloads of the seminar handouts and to order a free DVD of the panel discussions.
The second step in the advancement of the Employer Advocate program is the establishment of this website. We hope that you find the content interesting and informative, and that you will take advantage of the format that allows you to submit comments and responses to the posted articles. We will share some of the responses we receive in order to stimulate discussion and foster an exchange of ideas. Your responses are critical for the growth and vitality of this site.
